چکیده

Color superconductivity of QCD at finite density, temperature and flavor asymmetry is studied within an approximation which the interaction is modeled upon four–fermion interactions. We calculate the thermodynamic potential in the socalled NJL-type model and study the phase structure at finite density, temperature and flavor asymmetry. We find that a mixed phase appears at sufficiently large flavor asymmetry and low temperature. A tricritical point in the T -μB-μI plane is also found.

Color Superconductivity in Asymmetric Matter

The influence of different chemical potential for different flavors on color superconductivity is analyzed. It is found that there is a first order transition as the asymmetry grows. This transition proceeds through the formation of bubbles of low density, flavor asymmetric normal phase inside a high density, superconducting phase with a gap larger than the one found in the symmetric case. For ...

Phase Structure of Color Superconductivity and Chiral Restoration

In the ideal case at asymptotically high baryon density, the color superconductivity with two massless flavors and the color-flavor-locking (CFL) phase with three degenerated massless quarks have been widely discussed from first principle QCD calculations1. For physical applications we are more interested in the moderate baryon density region which may be related to the neutron stars and, in ve...

1-2-3-flavor color superconductivity in compact stars

We suggest a scenario where the three light quark flavors are sequentially deconfined under increasing pressure in cold asymmetric nuclear matter as, e.g., in neutron stars. The basis for our analysis is a chiral quark matter model of Nambu– Jona-Lasinio (NJL) type with diquark pairing in the single flavor color-spin-locking (CSL), two-flavor (2SC) and three-flavor color-flavor locking (CFL) ch...

Gapless color superconductivity at zero and at finite temperature

We present a detailed study of the recently proposed gapless color superconductivity in neutral two-flavor quark matter in β-equilibrium at zero as well as at finite temperature. We clarify the nature of the fermionic quasiparticles, and discuss the physical properties of this gapless phase of quark matter. The appearance of two “secondary” spin-1 condensates in the gapless ground state is poin...

Color Flavor Locked Quark matter properties

Quark matter at its highest densities; is expected to become a color superconductor and transition to a phase called color flavor locking (CFL)[1]. Because of asymptotic freedom, the theory becomes weaker at high densities [1] and some kind of superconductivity can be expected[2]. At the CFL phase it behaves as a superfluid[3]and has Chiral Symmetry breaking[1]. Possible observations or experim...
